The Fourth Annual Solar-Powered Local Music Tribal Summit 2013

The Sanctuary will be hosting its fourth annual solar-powered music festival on Saturday, September 21st. The Local Music Tribal Summit 2013 will feature 11 exciting musical acts, as well as a number of shorter sets by some of our area’s best musicians.

The day will begin with 2-hour jazz jam brunch with coffee and breakfast offered by East Haddam’s awesome new coffee house, Two Wrasslin’ Cats. Musical performances will continue through the afternoon into the evening and include Ernest Song Project, Someone You Can Xray, Womb of the Desert Sun, Bokum Road, Carl Suiter, Jen Taylor, the Weird Beards, Sonic Nation, Off the Dome and Cosmos Sunshine. There will also be cameo appearances by Joe Taylor, Justin Vood Good, Hans Lohse, Cody Urban, Justin Zachariewicz and others. The evening will continue with drumming and an acoustic jam session in the Sanctuary yurt.

This celebration of local musical culture offers a distinctively beautiful and meditative space for music to be performed, listened to and enjoyed with focus and heart. In addition to the music, the Summit will feature holistic lifestyles vendors, food, hooping, red tent, drumming, picnicking, and a family-friendly and intergenerational vibe. The Sanctuary's 9 solar array will power the vibes.

All proceeds to benefit the Sanctuary 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Running on donations from events such as the Local Tribal Music Summit, the Sanctuary is chartered as a community resource to promote environmental education, community development and interfaith spiritual practice and understanding.
