Sen. Art Linares to Serve on Bipartisan Clean Energy Center Task Force
Sen. Art Linares (R-Westbrook) has been selected to serve on a new Connecticut Clean Energy Center Task Force. The task force will research various clean energy technologies and a potential site to house a clean energy research and development facility. “The goal is to bring about cheaper, cleaner, more reliable power for Connecticut consumers,” Sen. Linares said. “In addition, we want to do whatever we can to help create good jobs in Connecticut. We have a tremendous opportunity here, and I look forward to serving on this panel.” Linares, who co-founded a clean energy business at the age of 19, thanked State Representative Timothy Bowles (D-Preston/Ledyard/Montville) for asking him to participate on the task force. The panel is expected to produce a preliminary report by October. Sen. Linares (www.senatorlinares.com) represents the 33rd Senate District, which encompasses Chester, Clinton, Colchester, Deep River, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland, and Westbrook.
