Lee May, Neighbor

I live, write and garden in East Haddam, having moved here from Atlanta in 2001 after more than 30 years as of newspapering, including 12 years as a Washington correspondent for the Los Angeles Times.

During the last 20 years, I've combined my lifelong loves of writing and gardening, writing a gardening column for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution – and essays for magazines, including Southern Accents, Better Homes and Gardens, Living the Country Life and Country Gardens.

I still write for magazines, and online (LeeMaysGardeningLife.com), covering subjects including practicing sourdough bread and tending the acre of gardens I built, while enjoying life close to nature with my wife Lyn and Cat Bette, even as I do battle with voles, moles and deer.
