Bill and Betty Wiley were quite active in Haddam in the 1950's, 1960's and well into the 1970's.Read More Bill owned and operated the town's hardware store in Higganum. Betty served on the Board of Education 1963 -1967. Bill served on the Zoning Commission and the ZBA in the 1960's and served four terms as First Selectman in the 60's and 70's. This family played an important role in the life of Haddam during those years and we are happy to welcome the Wiley family to Haddam this weekend for Betty Wiley's burial.

Doreen Messier will be missed. She made a great difference in many lives. I worked with her forRead More years at Killingworth Elementary School. She loved children. She was a gentle and kind person. She was a true professional teacher- very conscientious and hardworking. Killingworth was fortunate to have an employee of this caliber. I will miss our visits and our phone calls. Doreen was a loyal friend who supported me professionally and personally. Just a year ago she was there for me at the HK Hall of Fame dinner and looked wonderful as usual. This should make us all thank the Almighty for each day we have left-and treasure that time.
