The maximum sentence was 20 years, and this judge sentenced them to 15 years? The fact that they…Read More carried handguns and assaulted patrons and employees should have given them 30 years. Please name the judges and prosecuters in these cases. They are too often let off for bad judgement.

I am so thankful for our veterans. Thank you for informing the public of these despicable scams!

A=east/south?
B=west/north?
D=(the hiway to 'hail') ?
etc=(the other hiway to 'hail")?
E=…Read More (the hiway that nobody know's about?)
ABCD=NSEW or is it ABCetc=NSEW?
(how did that E get in there?)
dammit, i'm already confused!
I'm going to avoid Pennsylvania's from now on, they seem somewhat 'off' when it comes to common sense.

the 'projections' will be confusion for the various folks who stream thru these interchanges,…Read More looking for old familiar signs, but finding anything but.
Maybe the state needs to farm out another few million $$ for a media blitz, tv, cable, internet, radio, thousands of paper flyers and ads on the backs of busses, sides of taxi's and other to 'educate' the drivers as they text and blab their way along this road. oh heck, it's only MONEY! right?
(oh heck again, i just gave them another idea how to spend the taxpayer's 'donations', silly old me!)
The real safety issue here is 'JOB SECURITY" for all those state workers hanging about, looking like they are doing NOTHING to earn their MAGNIFICENT pensions. just keep them busy, since our money is no object! and dare we even attempt to object to these cosmetic coverups, the tax and spend politico's will punish us again by dreaming up another tax on something, anything, (you know, so we all feel like we're part of the 'big picture')

This project is absolutely wasteful! Ms. Smith's comment regarding a better use of the $9M is…Read More sensible. But, in these times of economic stress, why spend the $9M at all...unless there are critical highway safety issues that have already been identified and are not adequately funded. Frivolous Government spending at all level on such projects as this has reached epidemic levels.

While I understand the democrats feel there are positive aspects of this in terms of revenue and the…Read More fact that illegals are now driving without licenses which pose liability issues....this is just one more step placing them closer to full voting status which the Dem's would truly love to continue their control of our state government.
EH Resident May 24, 2013 at 09:10 am
If they know the people are illegal then why aren't they doing something about that instead? No,…Read More let's keep them illegal but give them driver licenses so they can get around better in a country they aren't supposed to be in in the first place.
I think I would have more benefits if I left the US and came back claiming to be illegal. This way I could get my driver's license, college and whatever benefits from social services paid for by the tax payers without me ever needing to lift a finger. What is wrong with this picture?

"Studies have raised important questions about the health effects of genetically modified…Read More foods, and many people are rightfully concerned.”
Maybe we should look at some of the studies AND other scientists' responses to them. THAT, Mr. Duff, is how science works.
For a review of one study that had "conclusive proof" that GMOs caused tumors, heck out:
http://www.npr.org/blogs/thesalt/2012/09/19/161424735/as-scientists-question-new-rat-study-gmo-debate-rages-on
In it, NPR points out that the researcher who did the study carried out the experiment for 2 YEARS, or the lifespan for the EXPERIMENTAL rats. No wonder tumors began showing up - it is a product of their genetics (this type of rat is PRONE to tumors) and their AGE (look up tumor rates by age group). Other researcher looking at the results found that the pesticides used in the GMO fed to them could have ALSO caused the tumors.
How far do we need to go? Without looking at these "studies" with a critical eye, and checking all the possible CAUSES of these health risks, we will never know if the GMOs or pesticides are causing the dangers to our health!
I urge our legislators to THINK about the problem, RESEARCH it WITHOUT considering their reelection campaign, and make a decision that doesn't just look good in the press!

1. More junk science sold to dull-witted legislators, many of whom never went past high school and…Read More the overwhelming majority of whom never took a serious, college-level science course.
2. This strikes me as an impermissible regulation of interstate commerce, as well it should be. What happens when all 50 states have different labelling requirements? The massive costs of compliance will be passed on to consumers, the vast majority of whom don't care.
3. If there was a market for the stuff that wasn't modified the people who produce it would be plastering the fact all over their packaging and the grocery stores would have whole aisles dedcated to displaying it.
