The 131-acre Parmelee Farm was purchased by the Town of Killingworth in 2000, at which time it was known as the Bosco Property. The property was unused until 2007 when a community garden on the site was approved.

The Parmelee Farm, located near the center of town and adjacent to Cockaponsett State Forest, is used for education, agriculture, preservation, passive recreation and the arts. Structures on the property include an 18th century farmhouse, a post and beam barn, a stone barn, pole barn and storage shed.

In April 2009, the Parmelee Farm Steering Committee (PFSC) was established to develop long-range plans for the property's use. The Steering Committee supports the continued use by the Killingworth Community Gardens, use of the farmhouse by the Killingworth Historical Society, restoration of hayfields and farm building, creation of walking trails, conducting workshops, as well as additional projects.

The entrance is currently marked with the Paremelee Farm sign and is found just north of the entrance to Haddam-Killingworth Middle School.
