Why:      To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts

In honor of the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting, the Chatham Service Unit (East Hampton and East Haddam troops) is planning a special promise circle on Monday, March 12th, to recite the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

In 1912, Juliette Gordon Low created the Girl Scouts with 12 girls. One hundred years later, Girl Scouts serve over 2.3 million girl members and approximately 900,000 adult members. In Connecticut alone, we serve 46,500 girls and over 19,000 volunteers. This promise circle will remember our founder’s vision and note how far we’ve come and how much farther we’re going!

This event is one of many celebrating our 100th Anniversary. Our Girl Scout 100th Jubilee will be held on May 19 at the Durham Fairgrounds. This event is open to the public and features lots of family fun. For more information about Girl Scouts and our 100th Anniversary, visit www.gsofct.org.
