Jeannie Young for Board of Education

The Killingworth Republican Town Commuttee unanimously approves Jeannie Young as the nominated candidate for the Board of Education.

My name is Jeannie Young and I am running for a position on the Board of Education.

The election for the Board of Education is one of the most important elections held in town because our education system is one of our most valuable possessions.  As a mother of four children, three of whom attend Killingworth Elementary School, I understand the importance of providing high quality education while also being fiscally conservative.   As a parent and a community member I believe I can bring a unique voice to the education issues in our district and work to improve our education system in order to make it one of the best around.

I am confident that my background and work experience also qualifies me for the position.  With a degree from Brigham Young University in Fitness and Wellness Management, I have worked in a number of management positions.  I also have experience in the banking industry and have been responsible for the payroll and finances of a home-based construction materials company.  I have served as president of a number of the youth organizations in my church which assists children from three to eighteen years old.  I currently enjoy serving as a room parent at KES and volunteering at the many events and activities at the school.

I would like the opportunity to serve on the Board of Education to represent the wonderful students in our town as well as community members and to be a liaison between the two.  I ask for your support and invite you to attend the town meeting that will be held on Thursday, February 28th at 7pm at Killingworth Elementary School.

Thank you.
