The First Day of Summer is Friday!

This year's Summer Solstice falls on Friday, June 21 at 1:04 AM for us here in the Haddam, East Haddam and Killingworth Area!

Friday marks the first official day of summer.

It looks like Haddam, East Haddam and Killingworth will see some sunny summertime weather for this year’s Summer Solstice.

The National Weather Service forecast for that day is calling for sunny weather, with a high near 81. Evening and night temperatures could hit a low of 58. The first weekend of summer will see temperaturs staying around the mid to high 70s and 80s and, and dipping down into the low 60s at night. The forecast says Saturday and Sunday will be mostly to partly sunny. 

This year’s Summer Solstice, which marks the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, will happen shortly after midnight on Friday at 1:04 AM for us here in the Eastern Time Zone, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac website
