Special Ed Networking Night Planned

Parents and special-education professionals are invited to Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School on Tuesday, October 18.

Parents of children with special needs and special-education school professionals are invited to a Special Education Networking Night at the Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School Library, 73 Clark Gates Road in Moodus, on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, 6 – 8 p.m.

This event, sponsored by SEPTA (Special Education Parent Teacher Association), is designed to provide parent-to-parent support and advocacy networking for families of children with individual education plans (IEPs) and Section 504 plans. Parents and education professionals who work with special-needs children in preschool through high school in the East Haddam school district or surrounding towns are welcome and encouraged to take part.

The event is free. Refreshments will be served.

SEPTA, the sponsoring organization, strives to empower parents, professionals, and students to become more effective advocates in their schools and communities. The group serves as a resource for disability-related information.

For more information about this event or about SEPTA, please contact David Scata, East Haddam Director of Pupil Services, at david.scata@easthaddamschools.org.
