A snowstorm blanketed the area last night, closing schools in both East Haddam and Regional School District 17, which encompasses the towns of Haddam and Killingworth.
As of early morning, CT Light and Power is reporting that only 2 homes in Haddam, 14 in Killingworth and 16 in East Haddam are currently without power, resulting in less than 1% of those towns' populations.
The snow is expected to continue throughout the day, mixing with rain later in the day and adding another possible 1 to 3 inches to the current snowfall totals.
