It's White, It's Heavy, Schools are Closed, but the Power's Still On
Due to the heavy snowfall overnight, schools in East Haddam and RSD17 are closed on Friday. Less than 1% of residents are without power.
A snowstorm blanketed the area last night, closing schools in both East Haddam and Regional School District 17, which encompasses the towns of Haddam and Killingworth.
As of early morning, CT Light and Power is reporting that only 2 homes in Haddam, 14 in Killingworth and 16 in East Haddam are currently without power, resulting in less than 1% of those towns' populations.

The snow is expected to continue throughout the day, mixing with rain later in the day and adding another possible 1 to 3 inches to the current snowfall totals.
