Haddam-Killingworth Schools Continue Hiring After Some Unexpected Resignations

As some last minute resignations come in from Regional School District 17 employees, Superintendent of Schools Howard Thiery says Haddam-Killingworth Schools are continuing their hiring season.

At the Tuesday, August 6 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Schools Howard Thiery announced that Regional School District No. 17 was continuing their hiring season. Theiry shared that last week the District had received some unexpected resignations in August.

"We had a few resignations that have come in that we were not expecting for various reasons," Theiry said at Tuesday's meeting. "This week we received some in fact. It is always sad to lose our teachers, but we wish those people the best of luck. As a result, we will continue our hiring season."

Though Theiry stated the names of those who had recently resigned were not available until the following Board of Education meeting, he stated he was confident about those new employees Haddam-Killingworth Schools have hired thus far.
