East Haddam school officials have notified parents that there will be no classes here on Monday October 29 only, when Hurricane Sandy is expected to be at its height.
According to the phone alert, a decision for schools on Tuesday will be made as the storm progresses.
The district joins a long list of others across the state that are cancelling classes in anticipation of the huge storm, which is expected to have high and sustained winds starting late tonight.
