East Haddam Hires Interim Superintendent for 2012-2013 School Year

The East Haddam Board of Education hires Mary Beth Iacobelli of Berlin as the school district's Interim Superintendent of Schools. The search for a new superintendent has not yet begun.

Dr. Mary Beth Iacobelli of Berlin, CT has been hired by the East Haddam Board of Education as an Interim Superintendent of Schools for the 2012-2013 school year. Dr. Iacobelli has been serving as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the New Britain School District for the past three years. 

Her educational experiences also include serving as an elementary and middle school teacher, as a special education teacher, Special Education Department Chair, Middle School Assistant Principal, and as an Elementary Principal. 

Dr. Iacobelli received her Doctorate in Education Leadership as well as her 6th Year Degree from Central Connecticut State University where in 2010, she was honored with the Outstanding CCSU Alumni Leadership award.

She also has an M.S. in Educational Computing from the University of Hartford, an M.S. in Learning Disabilities, and a B.S. in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University.

Dr. Ellen Solek that she would be leaving as East Haddam Superintendent and moving to a new position as the Superintendent of the school district of Bristol.
