East Haddam Community Forum

In the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy, the meeting will include an overview of security practices and protocols presently in place and an opportunity for questions, suggestions, and conversation relative to this topic.

In response to the Newtown tragedy, many parents are experiencing a heightened sense of anxiety relative to their children’s safety, and a renewed interest in what we are doing as a town and school system to protect our children.

Mark Walter and I have scheduled a community forum, facilitated by stakeholders with experience and expertise in emergency management. The panelists all have a vested responsibility for school safety; the East Haddam Board of Education, Board of Selectmen, Police Department, and Youth & Family Services will be represented.

The meeting format will include an overview of security practices and protocols presently in place and an opportunity for questions, suggestions, and conversation relative to this topic.

Please mark your calendar: Tuesday, January 22nd at 6:30 PM in the Nathan Hale Ray High School Auditorium.

I hope you will be able to join us.
