Miller Sworn in as 36th General Assembly Rep.

Essex First Selectman was named to the Environment, Human Services, and Public Health committees by Speaker of the House Christopher G. Donovan

Newly sworn in State Rep. Phil Miller, D-36, took office at the State Capitol in Hartford as a member of the Connecticut General Assembly.

The first selectman of Essex was elected on Feb. 22 in a special election to represent the 36th Assembly District of Essex, Chester, Deep River and Haddam. James Spallone had represented the district since 2000, but gave up his seat in early January after being named Deputy Secretary of the State.

Miller was named to the Environment, Human Services, and Public Health committees by Speaker of the House Christopher G. Donovan (D-Meriden).
