Letter to the Editor: Save the Ferries
In an effort to save the ferry service, a concerned citizen urges you to write your representatives.
Leif Nilsson, head of the Chester Merchant's Association, suggests writing your representatives in an effort to fight for the ferries to remain in service:
The ferries are indeed in danger of closing. Here is a simple sample email that you can use as a template to write to your senator and representative:
I am writing to encourage you to fully fund operating and capital expenses for both the Rocky Hill - Glastonbury and Chester - Hadlyme ferries asprovided for in the budget originally adopted by the legislature.

And do not permit the repeal of Section 13a-252 of the State Transportation law, which requires the state to operate both ferries.
