Here's an update from Superintendent Mary Beth Iacobelli on the current outage situation, sent via email to town residents.

This is Mary Beth Iacobelli, Superintendent of Schools, calling with an important storm related message. All East Haddam Schools will be closed on Wednesday, October 31st and there will be no after school activities. There will be no out-of-district transportation. Additionally, all town Park and Recreation activities are cancelled for tomorrow.

I am eager for schools to reopen and as soon as electricity is restored at all the schools and the roads are clear, we will get our children back to school. I will continue to monitor the situation and a message will be sent out as soon as a determination is made regarding school on Thursday. In the meantime, I share your frustration and appreciate your patience as we deal with the fallout from Storm Sandy.
