DUI & Sobriety Check-Point in East Haddam

The Connecticut State Police, in conjunction with the East Haddam Resident Troopers' Office will be out on location in town this weekend, in an attempt to make our roadways safer.

Deadly combinations of speed, intoxication, lack of seat-belt use and distracted driving needlessly claim the lives of motorists in Connecticut every year. The potential for tragedy is greatly increased when large numbers of people gather for events that historically include the consumption of alcohol.

Sobriety check-points, DUI road-blocks and roving patrols are conducted by law enforcement, in an effort to keep our roadways safer.

License, registration and insurance inspections, as well as 'field sobriety tests' will be part of the effort.

Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, driving at high rates of speed, distracted driving, and lack of seat-belt use are all issues that can potentially lead to tragic and often deadly consequences.

In an effort to prevent Driving-Under-The-Influence related accidents, injuries, and deaths, Connecticut State Police personnel, in conjunction with the East Haddam Resident Troopers' Office, will be conducting a DUI & Sobriety check-point in the town of East Haddam on Saturday, April 21, 2012.

By detecting, arresting and deterring those who would otherwise drive under the influence of intoxicating substances, we can make the roadways safer for everyone.
