Suspicious Grey Van Approached East Haddam Students at Bus Stop

Superintendent sent safety notification to parents.

A grey van reportedly approached students Monday while they were waiting at a bus stop, according to a message sent to East Haddam parents.

The message came from Mary Beth Iacobelli, East Haddam superintendent of schools, through an emergency notification system.

Iacobelli said the students are fine, and it isn’t certain if there was any harmful intent. She asked the community to be “extra vigilant” and to call the state police at 860-896-3200 or call 911 if there is any suspicious activity in the neighborhoods.
