Stolen Hand-Gun, Misuse of Plates, Harassment and Unclaimed Property

Haddam area police activity reports.

 

The Haddam Resident Troopers' Office and the Connecticut State Police, Troop F in Westbrook report the following incidents:


MISUSE OF REGISTRATION PLATES, OPERATING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE AND OPERATING AN UNREGISTERED MOTOR-VEHICLE - On Feb.17th at approximately 3:48 p.m., Geoffrey Riggio, 28, of 64 Roast Meat Hill Road, Killingworth was stopped by police while traveling southbound on Route 9 and charged with the above violations. Riggio is scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 3/28/12.

UNCLAIMED/FOUND PROPERTY - On Feb.18th, the Connecticut State Police, Troop F recovered a mountain bike that was found in Haddam. The owner is asked to contact the barracks at 860-399-2145 to describe the bike in detail and provide proof of ownership to claim it.

OPERATING WITHOUT A VALID LICENSE, OPERATING A MOTOR-VEHICLE WITHOUT MINIMUM INSURANCE COVERAGE AND OPERATING WHILE REGISTRATION OR LICENSE IS REFUSED, SUSPENDED, OR REVOKED - On Feb.18th, Rose Lake, 67, of 8 Gates Way, Haddam was charged with the above violations and is scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 4/13/12.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On Feb. 27th, Emil Modehn, 49, of 233 Cedar Lake Road, Haddam was arrested and charged with the above, as a result of a domestic dispute with a family member. Modehn was arrested without incident and transported to Troop F for processing. He was later released on a $500 cash bond and given a court date of 2/28/12 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

HARASSMENT - On Feb. 29th at 6:00 p.m., Cristina Johnson, 41, of 31 River Road, Haddam was arrested by Colchester police and charged with 2nd-degree harassment. Johnson was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of 3/15/12 at Norwich Superior Court in Norwich. 

MOTOR-VEHICLE vs.UTILITY POLE - On March 1st at approximately 12:33 p.m., Christopher Porriello, 21, of Hidden Lake Road, Higganum was traveling southbound on Route 81 in a 1990 Acura Legend, in the area of Little City Road in Haddam. Porriello's vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported.

PISTOL STOLEN FROM A VEHICLE - On March 2nd, a River Road, Haddam resident reported that his Sig Sauer Mosquito .22 caliber pistol had been stolen from his vehicle, sometime between 7:45 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Police said that there were no signs of forced entry or damage to the vehicle. Anyone with information that could help police with this investigation is asked to contact Trooper Derek Smitt at the Connecticut State Police, Troop F at 860-399-2100.
