A local Connecticut State Police cade post is looking for teenagers interested in criminal justice or law enforcement to join the force.

According to a post on The Haddams-Killingworth Patch Boards, the State Police Troop K Cadet Post #28 is looking for people from ages 14-20 who wish to be part of its leadership organization.

"Through the Cadet program, teens have received training in basic law enforcement skills, including crime scene processing, hand-cuffing procedures, evidence processing, training with the National Guard stationed at Camp Niantic, CPR, First Aid, firearms safety, military drills and a basic understanding of the law," the post stated.

Cadets serve the community by assisting troopers with traffic control and security at local community events, such as fairs, concerts and toy drives.
