Second Man Arrested in Killingworth Bank Robbery

Marcus Dwyer, wanted by the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department, was taken into custody in connection with the TD Bank robbery in August.

The second man wanted by police for an armed robbery of a Killingworth bank in August was arrested Wednesday by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Marcus Dwyer, 40, formerly of New Haven, was taken into custody in New London and will appear before a U.S. judge in Bridgeport at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to a news release from the U.S. Justice Department.

Police said Dwyer and accomplice Dario Pabey, 32, of Waterbury, walked into the TD Bank at 184 Route 81 in Killingworth armed and wearing ski masks. The men ordered both customers and bank employees to the floor and bound one victim, police said.

They then stole $43,573 in cash from the bank before fleeing in a stolen white Scion, which they later abandoned on a country road, police said.

Pabey was arrested on Sept. 7, the same day a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging the pair with committing the robbery.

U.S. Attorney David Fein stressed that an indictment is not evidence of guilt. Charges are only allegations, and each defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The FBI and Connecticut State Police continue to investigate, although police did not indicate any further arrests are expected.
