Route 81 Car Accident Puts Vehicle into Stone Wall

Both involved vehicles were towed from the scene, one with damage. No injuries were reported.

The following information was provided by the Troop F press log located at their barracks in Westbrook, CT.

According to a Troop F Accident Information Summary, a July 28 car accident caused a car to go into a stone wall off the right shoulder of Route 81 Northbound in Killingworth.

The accident that took place around 1 PM involved two vehicles, according to Officer Owen W. Humphreys accident summary. Police say a Clinton driver was stopped just prior to Green Hill Road due to another vehicle stopped waiting to turn left.

The driver behind the vehicle, a 21-year-old driver from Killingworth, failed to stop and rearended the Clinton driver, police say. This caused the stopped vehicle to collide into a stone wall off the right shoulder of the roadway.

No injuries were reported and both cars were towed. The car that was rearended was damaged, though the extend of the damage was not reported.
