Possession of Narcotics and Drug Paraphernalia, Burglary, Larceny and Assault

East Haddam area police activity reports.

 

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:


FAILURE TO DRIVE A REASONABLE DISTANCE APART - On Jan. 12 at approximately 5:14 p.m., Anna Duffy, 26, of Newberry Road, East Haddam and Judith Ellsworth, 73, (no street address given), Hadlyme were involved in a minor two-vehicle accident in the area of Routes 82 & 149. As Duffy was slowing her vehicle, a 2007 Ford F-150, to make a stop, Ellsworth, operating a 2009 Subaru Outback, struck Duffy's vehicle in the left rear quarter-panel. No injures were reported, but police issued Ellsworth a written warning for following too close.

LARCENY, POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - On Jan. 13th at approximately 9:48 a.m., Jason Rich, 36, of 40 Bashan-Falls Road, Moodus was arrested by Vernon police and charged with 6th-degree larceny, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rich was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court in Rockville on 1/24/12.

BURGLARY, LARCENY AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On Jan. 17th at approximately 4:05 p.m., John Paul Fournier, 23, of 45 Forest Street, East Hampton was arrested and charged with 3rd-degree burglary, (from a motor-vehicle) 2nd-degree criminal mischief, and 4th-degree larceny. Fournier was held on a $25,000 bond, pending a court date of 1/18/12 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND ASSAULT - On Jan. 18th at approximately 8:30 p.m., Kevin Leyland, 58, of 309 East Shore Drive, East Haddam was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and 3rd-degree assault. Leyland was processed at Troop K and released on a $500 non-surety bond. He was scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 1/19/12.
