Possession of Child Pornography, Promoting the Obscene Performance of a Minor, Larceny and Disorderly Conduct

East Haddam area police activity reports.

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:

FRAUDULENT USE OF A STORE CHARGE ACCOUNT - On Sept. 29, police received a complaint that two subjects had charged approximately $600 worth of merchandise from Shagbark Lumber & Farm Supply on Mount Parnassus Road in East Haddam, using an unauthorized store charge account number. The case is under investigation.

LARCENY AND ISSUANCE OF A BAD CHECK - On Sept. 30, Deborah Frim, 55, of 23 Cross Road, Chester was arrested at her residence and charged with 4th-degree larceny and issuance of a bad check. The charges stem from an investigation by police, regarding an incident in which Frim allegedly issued a $1,200 check as payment for an oil delivery from an account that was no longer active. Frim was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in court on 10/11/11 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On Oct. 2, Andrea Morris, 41, of 6 School Road, East Haddam was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Morris was processed and released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 10/3/11.

POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND PROMOTING THE OBSCENE PERFORMANCE OF A MINOR - On Oct. 6, Thomas Marcel, 52, of 264 Mount Parnassus Road, East Haddam was arrested by the Department of Public Safety Computer Crimes Unit, based on an active warrant, and charged with the above. Marcel was released on a $100,000 professional-surety bond and scheduled for arraignment at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 10/18/11.

CRIMINAL VIOLATION OF A PROTECTIVE ORDER, DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND RISK OF INJURY TO A MINOR - On Oct. 9 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Kenneth Glan, 48, of 32 Beech Avenue, East Haddam was arrested and charged with the above. Glan was released on a $1,000 insured bond and given a court date of 10/11/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.

LARCENY FROM THE LOCKER-ROOM AT THE HIGH SCHOOL - On Oct. 11, East Haddam Police were dispatched to the Nathan Hale-Ray High School on School Drive in East Haddam to investigate the theft of an Apple iPod Touch device. The iPod was reportedly taken from the boys locker room on October 7th, between the hours of 2:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Anyone with information that could help police with this investigation is asked to contact Officer Craig Mansfield at the East Haddam Police Department at 860-873-1226 or the Confidential Tip Line at 860-873-5013.
