Police: Two Injured in Fiery Route 82 Head-On Collision

A fiery two-car crash late Sunday night sent two drivers to the hospital — one of them with serious injuries — after their vehicles met head on along Route 82 in Haddam.

According to state police, both drivers were traveling on the Route 82 connector in Haddam shortly before 3 a.m. Monday morning.

Salko Duric, 50, of Fenwick Street in Hartford, was traveling westbound in his 2009 Isuzu NPR, and Ryan Graham, 29, of Colonial Drive in Killingworth, was traveling eastbound in his 2002 Ford Ranger.

A preliminary investigation found that Grahm's truck crossed into the westbound lane, intersecting the patch of Duric's vehicle — causing a head-on collision, police said.

Duric and Graham were able to escape their vehicles, which both became engulfed in flames.
