Two vehicles were discovered parked in the dirt parking lot at Chatfield Hollow Park in Killingworth. One man was observed drinking beer. An odor of marijuana was detected from one of the vehicles and upon a subsequent search, marijuana, paraphernalia and additional alcoholic beverages were discovered. Two of three males on the scene were arrested and charged with possession of alcohol and marijuana.

CT Valley Railroad/ Essex Steam Train called in and reported a scrap metal theft from their property with a description of the subjects and their vehicle. TFC Matt Ewig located the suspects travelling northbound on route 9 in Haddam and stopped them. The stolen metal was located in the suspect’s car and both suspects were arrested.
Victor Peplau of Deerfield Ave. in Middletown and Christopher Winkler of Tater Hill Road in East Haddam were charged with 6th degree larceny, released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and were given a court date of July 5, 2012 in Middletown.
