Police Blotter Activity, Troops F and K

A break-in at a Haddam consignment shop, DUI arrest, disorderly conduct and more.

Troop F in Westbrook Blotter Activity:

BREAK-IN: Police are investigating a late-night break-in at the Haddam Family Consignments store over the weekend.

State police at the Troop F barracks in Westbrook report that someone broke into the store at 1610 Saybrook Road around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night and stole an undetermined amount of cash.

The thief or thieves also took the drawer from the store’s cash register and damaged computer equipment there, state police said. The incident, they added, remains under investigation.

 DUI: Monica Nowosadko, 21, of 986 Killingworth Road, Apt. 3, in Haddam, was arrested Sunday in Chester and charged with travelling too fast for conditions and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K of Colchester, report the following incidents:

THIRD-DEGREE LARCENY: On April 12, Alexander Wilcox, 22, of 129 Falls Road, Moodus, was arrested pursuant to an active warrant for 3rd-degree larceny, stemming from an incident regarding stolen sports equipment from the Nathen Hale-Ray High School. Wilcox was transported to Troop K for processing, then later released on a $5,000 cash bond. He was given a court date of 4/13/11 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT:  On April 12, Harvey Leonard, 24, of 91 Clark Gates Road, Moodus, was arrested for the above mentioned charges, subsequent to police receiving a complaint of a disturbance. Leonard was processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond, and given a court date of 4/13/11 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT: On April 14, police charged Anthony Wright, 41, of 19 Lawlor Street, New Britain with a stop sign violation. Upon further investigation, police discovered that there was an active warrant out for his arrest from Stamford Police. Wright was processed and later released on a $1,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on 4/28/11.

FOURTH-DEGREE LARCENY: On April 15, Dena Kelly, 34, of 128 Peddler Path, Madison was placed under arrest pursuant to an active warrant. Kelly was processed and released without incident on a $1,000 surety bond and given a court date of 4/26/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  On April 16, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Sundy Martin, 53, of Hedlund Road East Haddam, was traveling westbound in a 2005 Buick LaCrosse on Route 16 in Colchester when the vehicle struck the center median curbing, causing the air-bags to deploy and the left front tire to deflate. No injuries were reported. Police issued Martin a written warning for failure to drive on the right.
