PD: Sex Assault at Haddam State Park Under Investigation

Westbrook Troopers have identified a suspect in the alleged attack they're terming an 'isolated incident' at Seven Falls on the Haddam-Middletown town lines Tuesday evening.

State Police have identified a male suspect they say sexually assaulted a woman Tuesday night at Seven Falls State Park in the Higganum section of Haddam, according to Sgt. Calvo of the Connecticut State Police Troop F barracks.

Just before 9:30 p.m., Haddam Resident Trooper Milardo was alerted to a suspicious person at the corner of Thayer Road and Route 154 (Saybrook Road), Calvo said, directly across from the park.

Witnesses saw two Middletown police cruisers and five state police cars during the initial report and by 11 p.m., seven state police cruisers investigating the incident that Calvo has called an "isolated incident."

According to Tfc. Milardo, the incident is under investigation to verify inconsistencies in both the suspect and the victim's stories as to who owned suspected illegal narcotics located and recovered from the scene of the crime.
