Operating an Unregistered Motor-Vehicle, DUI and Motor-Vehicles vs.Trees and Guardrails

East Haddam area police activity reports.

 

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:

MOTOR-VEHICLE vs. GUARDRAILS - On Jan. 21 at approximately 9:05 a.m., Joseph Formica, 27, of West Road, Salem was traveling westbound on Route 82 in East Haddam, just prior to Hopyard Road. Police said Formica lost control of his vehicle and struck some metal beam guardrails, but no injuries were reported.

OPERATING AN UNREGISTERED MOTOR-VEHICLE, OPERATING A MOTOR-VEHICLE WITHOUT MINIMUM INSURANCE COVERAGE AND OPERATING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE - On Jan. 21, Middletown Police observed Dennis Owens, 38, of 34 North Moodus Road, Moodus driving on Spring Street in Middletown without a front marker plate, and subsequently charged him with the above violations.

MOTOR-VEHICLE INTO TREES - On Jan. 22 at approximately 8:19 a.m., Jared Gruetter, 19, of Orchard Road, East Haddam was backing a 1990 Ford Ranger out of a private driveway onto Orchard Road. Casey Evans, 24, of Orchard Road, East Haddam was traveling eastbound along Orchard Road in a 1999 Ford Taurus when she crossed into the westbound travel lane and went off the roadway into a wooded area of small trees and bushes, according to police. No injuries were reported, but Evans' vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

MOTOR-VEHICLE vs.TREE - On Jan. 22 at approximately 10:06 p.m., Chloe Seddon, 17, of Candlewood Drive, East Hampton was traveling along Bashan Road in East Haddam, in a 2008 Nissan Versa. Police said that Seddon lost control of the vehicle while trying to negotiate a curve in the roadway and struck a tree. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On Jan. 25 at 10:52 p.m., Joshua Lonero, 22, of 201 Petticoat Lane, East Haddam was arrested and charged with the above. Lonero was processed at Troop K and later released on a $500 cash bond. He was scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 1/26/12.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND MAKING A RESTRICTED TURN - On Jan. 28 at 3:06 a.m., Donnie Velez, 22, of 368 East Haddam-Moodus Road, East Haddam was arrested and charged with the above. Velez was processed at Troop K and later released on a $500 non-surety bond. He was given a court date of 2/15/12 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.
