PHOTOS: Accident on Route 149 in Moodus Sends Driver to Hospital

A one-car motor vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon required the driver to be transported to the hospital via Life-Star helicopter.


A one-car motor vehicle accident earlier this afternoon sent the driver, 52-year-old Kevin Donahue of Short Road in Moodus, to Hartford Hospital via Life-Star helicopter.

Donahue was traveling southbound on Route 149 in a 2005 Mercedes at approximately 1:21 p.m., when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck some trees at the intersection of Eli Chapman Road in Moodus.

The , East Haddam Volunteer Fire Department and State Police responded to the scene.

According to hospital officials, Donahue is listed in stable condition.

State Police were at the scene trying to reconstruct the accident to determine the cause and the investigation remains active.
