Motorcyclist Strikes Deer on Rt. 80 in Killingworth

The driver was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with injuries after this August 16 accident.

According to a Troop F Accident Information Summary, a motorcyclist who was traveling east bound on Route 80 West of Chestnut Hill Road in Killingworth struck a deer crossing the road. The accident occurred around 2 PM in the afternoon on August 16.

Police say the motorcycle skidded sideways across the roadway after striking the deer and the driver, a 54-year-old man from Middletown, was ejected from the motorcycle. 

The driver was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with injuries. The motorcycle was towed to a garage in Higganum.

The case remains under investigation according to police. Troop F's Matthew P. Ward is the primary officer on the case.
