Motorcyclist Still Critical

Brian Thomas sustained life-threatening injuries in an accident yesterday on Route 154.

A Haddam man remains in critical condition at Hartford Hospital today after he lost control of his motorcycle on Route 154 last night and hit a stone wall.

Brian Thomas, 55, of 18 Parsonage Road, was riding his motorcyle in the southbound lane of the state highway at around 4 p.m. when he lost control of it just south of the highway’s intersection with Route 81, said police at the Troop F barracks in Westbrook.

Thomas, who slid off the motorcycle and into a stone wall on the southbound right shoulder of Route 154, sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident and was taken by Lifestar Helicopter to Hartford Hospital. A hospital spokeswoman said Thomas is still in critical condition today.

The accident remains under investigation and state police are asking anyone with information to call Troop F at 860.399.2100, or the Haddam Resident State Trooper's office, 860.345.2769.
