Interfering With Police, DUI's and First-Degree Larceny
East Haddam Police Activity Reports, June 24 - July 1.
The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K, report the following incidents:
CRIMINAL TRESPASS AND SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY - On June 24, Quinton Lamontagne, 19, of 155 Main St., East Hampton, was arrested and processed at Troop K, then later released on a $500 non-surety bond. Lamontagne is scheduled to appear on 7/12/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, MAKING AN IMPROPER TURN, INTERFERING WITH POLICE, BREACH OF PEACE AND EVADING - On June 25, at approximately 5:40 p.m., Joshua Hall, 29 Stony Brook Drive, East Haddam, was charged with the above and arrested by Colchester Police, related to a motor-vehicle accident on Dr. Foote Road in Colchester. Hall was processed and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond, and scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on 7/14/11.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND MAKING AN IMPROPER TURN - On June 25, at approximately 8:00 p.m., East Haddam Police observed a driver making an improper right-hand turn, from Route 149 in Moodus Center, onto North Moodus Road. After pulling the vehicle over, the officer detected an odor associated with alcohol. William Aitchison, 50, of 9 North Moodus Road, Moodus, failed the standardized field sobriety tests, and was arrested and charged with DUI and making an improper turn. Aitchison was processed at Troop K, released on a $500 non-surety bond, and given a court date of 7/6/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.
LARCENY FROM A MOTOR-VEHICLE - On June 27, the East Haddam Resident Troopers' Office was called to investigate the theft of a black leather wallet containing an undisclosed amount of cash. The vehicle had been left parked on Jones Hill Road in East Haddam.
MOTOR-VEHICLE vs. UTILITY POLE - On June 27, at approximately 12:06 a.m., Roland Stanley, 17, of Newbury Road, East Haddam, was traveling northbound on Newbury Road in East Haddam, when he lost control of the 1999 Jeep Cherokee that he was driving and struck a utility pole. Police reported no injuries, but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene after sustaining heavy damage.
FIRST-DEGREE LARCENY - On June 30, at approximately 7 a.m., Louis Pelletier, 29, of 111 Ballahack Road, East Haddam, was arrested and charged with the above. Pelletier was processed and released on a $25,000 bond, and scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on 7/13/11.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS - On July 1, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Deborah Pechout, 45, of 428 East Haddam-Moodus Road, Moodus, was arrested and charged with DUI and failure to drive upon the right. Pechout was processed at Troop K and released on a $500 non-surety bond. She is scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 7/13/11.
