Interfering with an Emergency Call, Assault and Disorderly Conduct

Haddam Police activity reports through June 14.

The Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop F in Westbrook report the following incidents:

MOTOR VEHICLE vs. GUARD RAIL - On June 8, at approximately 2:49 a.m., Danielle J. Jacobs, 22, of 127 Falls Road, Moodus, was traveling southbound on Route 9, approaching exit 8, in a 2001 Mercury Cougar. Police say Jacobs lost control of the vehicle and collided with the wire rope guard rail on the right-hand side of the highway. The vehicle continued southbound until it came to rest in the grass, where it was left damaged and inoperable and the accident is under investigation.

FIRST-DEGREE RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT, AND INTERFERING WITH AN EMERGENCY CALL - On June 10, Michael Kleiner, 19, of 30 Walkley Hill Road, Haddam, turned himself in to the Middletown Police Department, based on an active arrest warrant out of Troop F in Westbrook, for the above charges. Kleiner was transported from Middletown to the Troop F barracks and processed according to Connecticut State Police policy. He was released on a $500 bond and given a court date of 6/12/11 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

MOTOR VEHICLE vs. TREES - On June 13, at approximately 1:48 p.m., Daniel Santamaria, 19, of 396 Boston Post Road, East Lyme, was traveling southbound on Route 9, just south of exit 8 in Haddam, in a 2000 Saab-93. Santamaria lost control of his vehicle and drove off the left side of the roadway, subsequently hitting several trees before coming to rest in the center median. He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment. Anyone who may have witnessed this accident is asked to contact TFC Gunn at Troop F, at 860-399-2100.

TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT - On June 14, at approximately 8:41 a.m., Kevin Peoples, 34, of Staba Drive, Higganum, was traveling along Route 9 northbound in a 2011 Jeep Wrangler, in the process of changing lanes from right to left (of two lanes) at the exit 11 northbound on-ramp in Middletown. Brent Petroka, 54, of Toll Gate Road, Middletown, was entering Route 9 northbound from the exit 11 on-ramp, driving a 2002 BMW. Petroka's vehicle was struck in the left front by Peoples. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Middlesex Memorial Hospital for observation and evaluation, and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
