In The Line of Duty...More Burglaries, Larcenies, and Criminal Mischief

East Haddam Police Activity Reports, March 9-17

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K, Colchester, report the following incidents:

TWO-CAR MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT - On March 9, Joseph Pritchard, 53, of North Avenue, Moodus, was traveling southbound on Town Street (Rt. 151) at approximately 1:09 p.m., in a 1997 Nissan pick-up truck. Rachel Zirlen, 19, of Goose Hill Road, Chester, driving a 2004 GMC Envoy-X, was attempting to cross Town Street from East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike, when she struck Pritchard's vehicle. No injuries were reported.

TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS - On March 9, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Cynthia Andeen, 50, of Oak Road, East Haddam, was traveling along Middle Haddam Road, East Hampton, in a 2001 Suzuki Vitara, when she reportedly hit a patch of ice on the roadway, and struck a tree. Police issued Andeen a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.

BURGLARY, LARCENY, VIOLATION OF CONDITIONS OF RELEASE - On March 14, Cynthia Paduch, 47, of 5 Schulman-Veselak Road, East Haddam, was arrested for 3rd-degree burglary, 3rd-degree larceny, and violation of conditions of release.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On March 15, Alen Alic, 24, of 129 Falls Road, Moodus, was arrested for disorderly conduct, as a result of a verbal altercation that occurred at his residence.

HARASSMENT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, INTERFERING - On March 17, Christopher Smith, 19, of 12 Southwinds Road, Moodus, turned himself in to Troop K based on an active warrant for 2nd-degree harassment, disorderly conduct, and interfering with an emergency call.

BURGLARY, LARCENY, AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On March 17, Derik Waterman, 29, of 65 North Moodus Road, Moodus, was located at his residence by police and taken into custody to Troop K without incident, based on three separate warrants out for his arrest: 3rd-degree burglary, 4th-degree larceny, and 3rd-degree criminal mischief;  3rd-degree burglary, 6th-degree larceny, and 3rd-degree criminal mischief;  and 3rd-degree burglary, 1st-degree larceny, and 3rd-degree criminal mischief.

BURGLARY, LARCENY, AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On March 17, David Cutler, 56, of 270 Oakwood Avenue, West Hartford, was arrested for 3rd-degree burglary, 6th-degree larceny, and 3rd-degree criminal mischief, based on an active warrant for his arrest for a burglary that occurred in East Haddam in January, 2011.
