The hunt took place across from East Haddam Company #2, in the grassy field next to Liberty Bank on William F. Palmer Road in Moodus. Members of the fire department prepared, colored and hid approximately 2000 eggs for this year's event.

This time-honored tradition was attended by over a hundred children, ages infant through eight-years-old. Many arrived early, lining up with their parents along the cordoned-off area, waiting anxiously for the start of the hunt.

The Easter Bunny strolled through the crowd, shaking hands and giving hugs as everyone waited for the signal to start. An announcement over the PA system and a single blast of the air-horn from the 'Ladder 7-15' firetruck sent children scrambling into the field with high hopes of being lucky enough to be able to find one of the specially-marked 'prize eggs' or 'golden eggs' hidden in the grass.

After the hunt, children and their parents lined up behind the 'Rescue 1-15' fire engine to trade in their marked eggs for a special prize, presented by...who else?  The Easter Bunny, of course!
