Holiday Warning: Burglaries on the Rise in the Haddams

The Haddam Resident Troopers' Office is reporting a recent string of burglaries in the area.

Recently, and over a period of the past couple of months, police have received complaints and have responded to a number of reported residential burglaries.

Haddam, Higganum, Tylerville and Haddam Neck neighborhoods have all been the victims of these break-ins, and Haddam Resident Trooper Enrico Milardo is reminding the community to be aware.

Milardo is asking residents to remain vigilant, and to report any suspicious vehicles and/or persons in their neighborhoods.

"Many burglars will simply knock on the front door, prior to breaking in, to see if anyone is home," Milardo warned. "If possible, obtain detailed descriptions such as license plates, vehicle and suspect descriptions, etc., and report it immediately to State Police."

Anyone with concerns or information on a crime in progress is asked to contact the Connecticut State Police, Troop F in Westbrook at 860-399-2100, or the Haddam Resident Troopers' Office at 860-345-2769.
