Higganum Man Arrested For Theft

Westbrook State Police Troop F Incidents Feb. 13

Connecticut State Police, Troop F Westbrook, report the following:

ONE-CAR CRASH — On Feb. 13 at 1:45 a.m., Lee Swokla, 25, of Church Hill Road, Haddam, was driving a 2005 Ford F150 southbound on Walkley Hill Road in Haddam. He veered of the road, crashing into a wooden fence at 146 Walkley Hill. There was minor damage to the front end of the car and fence. Swokla left the scene and was located a short time later. The car was towed. There were no witnesses or injuries.

OPERATING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, FAILURE TO DRIVE IN PROPER LANE — On Feb. 13 at 3:52 a.m., Samantha Oobles, of Washington Street, Wallingford, 21, was arrested while driving southbound on Route 9 in Haddam after driving off the roadway. She failed the standard field sobriety test and taken to Troop F in Westbrook. Her court date was Feb. 24.

TWO COUNTS EACH OF THIRD-DEGREE BURGLARY, SECOND-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On Feb. 13 at 12:26 p.m., Jacob R. Smith, 19, of Pokorney Road, Higganum, was arrested at 5 Little Point St., Essex, on an outstanding warrant out of Middletown for theft. His court date was Feb. 24.
