Haddam Police Investigate Vandalism, Criminal Mischief

A new home under construction sustains major damage.

The Haddam Resident Troopers' Office and The Connecticut State Police, Troop F, in Westbrook are currently investigating a case of vandalism and criminal mischief that occurred at a new home under construction.

The  house,  on Little City Road near Gunger Hill Road in Higganum, sustained major damage. Almost all of the windows, including skylights, were smashed, police said.

Police estimate the damages at about $20,000, although nothing was reported stolen.

Damage to construction equipment on the same property was also reported about six months ago, said Trooper First Class Enrico Milardo, Haddam's resident trooper. The recent damage was discovered as a result of a routine police patrol check, he said.

The case remains under investigation and police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact Milardo at 860-345-2769, or state police at the Troop F barracks in Westbrook at 860-399-2100 or 1-800-256-5761.
