PHOTOS: Haddam Firefighters Battle Midnight Brush Fire

With Sunday night's high winds a concern, the blaze was quickly extinguished by firefighters before it could spread further through the area.

It was a busy late night Sunday for the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company.

Department members were called to extinguished a 50-foot long stretch of burning brush shortly before midnight Sunday along Jail Hill Road past Quarry Hill Road.

Thankfully, the blaze was quickly extinguished before it could spread further into the area.

"Hose lines were pulled off of Engine 6-13 while firefighters with hand tools raked out a perimeter," the volunteer company shared via its Facebook page.

The firefighters added that although the burning area of brush was "relatively small fire," it was a serious concern due to the evening's high winds.
