Fugitive Wanted for Sexual Assault and Risk of Injury to a Minor, DUI and Possession of a Controlled Substance

Haddam area police activity reports.

 

The Haddam Resident Troopers' Office and the Connecticut State Police, Troop F in Westbrook report the following incidents:

OPERATING A MOTOR-VEHICLE WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE AND USE OF A CELL PHONE WHILE DRIVING - On Jan. 28, Alexandra Zila, 23, of 660 Killingworth Road, Haddam was issued a summons for the above violations. Zila was scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 2/7/12.

ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS AND FAILURE TO KEEP PRESCRIPTION DRUGS IN THEIR ORIGINAL CONTAINER - On Jan. 30, Chase Guarino, 27, of 17 Valley Ridge Drive, Higganum was arrested and charged with the above violations. Guarino was later released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and given a court date of 2/9/12 at Middlesex Superior Court.

OPERATING AN UNREGISTERED MOTOR-VEHICLE - On Jan. 30, Rachael Tremblay, 25, of 28 Beach Road in Higganum was issued a summons for the above violation. Tremblay was scheduled for arraignment at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 2/14/12.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND FAILURE TO KEEP RIGHT ON A CURVE - On Jan. 31 at approximately 3:42 p.m., Sara Raffles, 29, address uncertain of Higganum was traveling westbound on Higganum Road in Durham. According to police, Raffles reportedly crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation and no other injuries were reported. Raffles was released from custody on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear on 2/15/12.

FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT AND RISK OF INJURY TO A MINOR - On Feb. 4, John McNally, 49, formerly of 76 River Road, East Haddam was apprehended by Tustin Police in Tustin, California, pursuant to an active arrest warrant in Connecticut. McNally is wanted for charges of 1st-degree sexual assault, two counts of 4th-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor, as well as being charged in California for being a fugitive from justice.

McNally is also known by his stage name, 'Johnny Vibrato', of the local blues band 'Johnny Vibrato & The Razorbacks', according to state police.

After an arrest warrant was pursued by the Connecticut State Police, Troop F related to a 2/17/10 complaint of a sexual assault involving a juvenile, McNally had fled the state, prior to the issuance of the warrant. He has eluded police for nearly two years.

McNally is being held on a $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear at a California court on 2/6/12 concerning extradition back to Connecticut.  The arrest warrant will be served pending McNally's return to the state.
