Fire on Quarry Hill Road in Haddam

The Haddam Volunteer Fire Company responded to a kitchen fire Wednesday afternoon.

The Haddam Volunteer Fire Co. received a call at 12:48 p.m. Wednesday for a structure fire on Quarry Hill Road in Haddam. Upon arrival, the first units confirmed a working kitchen fire. Firefighters made an offensive attack and were able to knock down the fire and contain it to the kitchen.

While the kitchen sustained some damage, the rest of the house was protected by the quick action of initial fire crews. Haddam Fire called in mutual aid from Chester, South District (Middletown) and Middletown Fire, but cancelled the request with thanks once the fire was brought under control.

The Haddam Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
