Fire Engine vs. Guardrail, Assault, Harassment, DUI and Disorderly Conduct

East Haddam area police activity reports.

 

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:
 
THREE-CAR COLLISION ON THE EAST HADDAM BRIDGE - On Dec. 27 at approximately 5:25 p.m.,  Katharine Holt, 27 of Lamphere Road, Waterford was traveling westbound on Route 82, while crossing the East Haddam swing-bridge. Holt lost contol of her 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, striking two other vehicles in the eastbound lane. No injuries were reported. Police issued Holt an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.

HARASSMENT - On Dec. 31, East Haddam Police received a complaint from an Old Kentwood Road, East Haddam resident, regarding phone messages that were being received from an ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend had previously been warned by police to terminate 'all contact' with the complainant.  After reviewing the recently left messages, police have stated that they will be pursuing an arrest warrant for harassment for this individual.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On Jan. 1 at approximately 12:25 a.m., Lori Riley, 48, of 22 Maple Avenue, East Haddam and Michael Riley, 56, of the same address were reportedly involved in a domestic dispute. They were both arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, each issued $500 non-surety bonds, and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 1/3/12.

FIRE ENGINE vs. GUARDRAIL - On Jan. 1 at approximately 1:33 p.m., the East Haddam Volunteer Fire Department was in process of responding to an emergency call in Engine 1-15, traveling northeast on Clark Hill Road, approaching the intersection of Mill Road in East Haddam. Police report that a red pick-up truck, traveling in the opposite direction, crossed over into the northbound lane, causing the driver of the fire apparatus to take evasive action. The fire engine was forced to the right side of the roadway, causing the vehicle to make contact with a section of guardrail, resulting in some minor damage to the truck. The driver of the red pick-up continued southbound, evading the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND SPEEDING - On Jan. 2 at 1:08 a.m., Michael Robinson, 31, of 14 White Sands Road, Moodus was arrested and charged with the above violations. Robinson was processed at Troop K, then later released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of 1/11/12 at Middlesex Superior Court.

ASSAULT AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On Jan. 5 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Shannon Ermellini, 26 of 14 Huntington Drive, Moodus was arrested and charged with the above. Ermellini was later released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 1/6/12.
