Failure to Stop for a School Bus, Violation of Probation, DUI's, Burglary, Larceny and Criminal Mischief

East Haddam area police activity reports.

 

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents: 


FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT - On Nov. 26, Matthew Kastel, 22, of 168 Leesville Road, Moodus was arrested for 2nd-degree failure to appear in court. Kastel was released on a $5,000 cash bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 11/28/11.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT AND TRAVELING UNREASONABLY FAST - On Nov. 26 at approximately 10:50 p.m., Gerald Tuttle, 24, of 81 Baker Road, East Haddam was arrested by Colchester Police and charged with the above. Tuttle was processed at Troop K and released on a $500 bond. He was given a court date of 12/13/11 at Norwich Superior Court in Norwich.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, OPERATING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE AND TRAVELING UNREASONABLY FAST - On Nov. 26 at approximately 12:52 a.m., East Haddam police pulled a vehicle over for exceeding the posted speed limit. Christian Mock, 30, of 92 Lake Hayward Road, Colchester failed the standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with the above. Mock was  released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 12/5/11.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT - On Nov. 27 at approximately 8:15 p.m., Ronald Zahacefski, 68, of 29 Loomis Road, Westchester was arrested and charged with the above. Zahacefski was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of 12/13/11 at Norwich Superior Court in Norwich.

BURGLARY, LARCENY AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - On Nov. 28 at approximately 5:46 p.m., Stephen Dente, 21, of 12 Alexander Road, Colchester was arrested for 1st-degree criminal mischief, 3rd-degree burglary and 6th-degree larceny. As East Haddam Police were investigating a burglary at a Shanaghan Road address, Dente was caught in the building attempting to steal copper piping. He was processed at Troop K and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond, and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 12/6/11.

FAILURE TO STOP FOR A SCHOOL BUS, OPERATING WITHOUT A LICENSE, FAILURE TO HAVE MINIMUM INSURANCE COVERAGE, OPERATING AN UNREGISTERED MOTOR-VEHICLE AND VIOLATION OF PROBATION - On Dec. 1 at 5:08 p.m., Charles Lineberry, 41, of Sillimanville Road, Moodus was issued the above motor-vehicle infractions as a result of a traffic stop by Middletown Police on Ferry Street in Middletown. At the same time, police also discovered that Lineberry had an active warrant in place and arrested him for violation of probation. He was held on a $10,000 bond and given a court date of 12/2/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.
