EVADING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT — On Feb. 4, at approximately 5:47 p.m., an East Haddam resident reported observing her car being hit by another vehicle, near the Gelston House restaurant, in the area of Lumberyard Road in East Haddam. The other vehicle then left the scene, and police are looking for a red Humvee with damage to the rear bumper. Anyone with information is asked to contact the East Haddam Resident Troopers' Office at 860-873-1226.

TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS — On Feb. 6, at approximately 7:19 p.m., Erica Winakor, 17, of Palmer Martin Road, East Haddam, was driving a 1991 Ford Taurus, traveling westbound along Route 82, just west of Cold Spring Road in East Haddam. Melissa Altman, 42, of Old Town Street, East Haddam, driving a 2004 Toyota Camry, had stopped for another vehicle in the roadway. Winakor, while trying to slow down, lost control due to slippery road conditions, and struck a snow embankment on the right shoulder of the westbound lane. Altman's vehicle had to be towed from the scene, and she and her passengers were transported to the Marlborough Clinic for complaints of back and neck pain. Winakor was issued an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.

SECOND-DEGREE LARCENY — On Feb. 8, Alen Alic, 24, of 129 Falls Road, Moodus, was arrested for the above charge.
