Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit, DUI, Reckless Endangerment and Threatening

East Haddam area police activity reports.

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K report the following incidents:

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT - On Sept. 17 at approximately 10:38 p.m., Maureen Roark, 54, of 113 Niles Road, Amston, was observed by police while traveling eastbound on Route 149, crossing over the center line several times. Roark was stopped by police and subsequently failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. She was arrested and charged with the above, processed at Troop K, and later released on a $250 cash bond. Roark was given a court date of 9/28/11 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.


MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT - On Sept. 17 at approximately 11:17 a.m., Gary Sikorski, 47, of Smith Road, East Haddam was traveling northbound on Smith Road, on a 2004 Kawasacki motorcycle, with a 9-year-old passenger on the bike. Sikorski lost control while trying to negotiate a curve, and both he and his passenger were thrown from the bike, according to police. Both riders were transported to Middlesex Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

EVADING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT AND TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS - On Sept. 18 at approximately 10:32 p.m., police were at the scene of a motor-vehicle accident on Haywardville Road in East Haddam, where the driver had reportedly lost control of a 2003 Nissan 350-Z and struck a rock on the side of the roadway. The driver then left the scene of the incident. Jonathan Carver, 24, of 7 Ridge Road, East Haddam was later arrested at his residence and charged with evading and traveling too fast for conditions. No injuries were reported.

CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A PERMIT - On Sept. 19 at approximately 8:00 p.m., John-Paul Fournier, 22, of 250 East Haddam-Colchester Turnpike, East Haddam was arrested and charged with the above, released on a $5,000 bond, and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 10/4/11.


DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS AND BREACH OF PEACE - On Sept. 20 at approximately 1:55 a.m., Ryan Bogan, 26, of 209 Balaban Road, Colchester was arrested and charged with DUI and breach of peace, subsequent to a reported disturbance and a police investigation into a suspicious incident at 127 Falls Road in Moodus.

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, THREATENING AND HARASSMENT - On Sept. 22 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Daniel Hill, 24, o 581 Town Street, East Haddam was arrested based on a warrant and charged with the above. Hill was released on a $25,000 insured bond and given a court date of 9/23/11 at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown.

THREATENING AND BREACH OF PEACE - On Sept. 22 at approximately 9:55 a.m., John Owens, 33, of 34 North Moodus Road, Moodus was arrested while at court facing charges from a September7th incident. The recent arrest was based on a warrant for the above charges. Owens was held in lieu of a $10,000 court-set bond, and scheduled to appear again at Middlesex Superior Court on 9/29/11.
