Burglary, Theft of Copper Piping, Custodial Interference and Strangulation

East Haddam area police activity reports.

 

The East Haddam Police and the Connecticut State Police, Troop K in Colchester report the following incidents:

MOTOR-VEHICLE vs. TREE - On Nov. 20 at approximately 9:19 a.m., Susan Jaruszewicz, 38, of Witch Meadow Road, Salem was traveling along Salem Road in East Haddam, in a 2000 Toyota RAV4. Jaruszewicz lost control of her vehicle and drove off the right side of the roadway, striking a tree. No injuries were reported.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, FAILURE TO DRIVE IN THE PROPER LANE, AND OPERATING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE - On Nov. 22 at approximately 6:15  p.m., Doreen Donat, 55, of 19 Ballahack Road, East Haddam was stopped by police at the intersection of Great Hillwood and Falls-Bashan Road in Moodus for a motor-vehicle violation. Police later determined that Donat was driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. She was arrested and charged with the above, released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court in Middletown on 12/7/11.

STRANGULATION AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT - On Nov. 24, Harry Henneberger, 31, of 53 Ackley Cemetery Road, East Haddam was arrested and charged with 3rd-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct, as a result of a domestic dispute. Henneberger was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and given a court date of 11/25/11 at Middlesex Superior Court.

CUSTODIAL INTERFERENCE - On Nov. 24, Mary Henneberger, 55, of 53 Ackley Cemetery Road, East Haddam was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree custodial interference, as a result of a domestic dispute. Henneberger was released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on 11/25/11.

OVER-TURNED MOTOR-VEHICLE - On Nov. 24 at approximately 1:50 a.m., Madeleine Holly, 21, of Powerhouse Road, Moodus was traveling westbound on Cherry Swamp Road in Moodus, in a 2008 Nissan Sentra. Holly's vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, striking a rock and a mailbox before overturning onto  it's side. No injuries were reported, but police issued Holly an infraction for failure to drive upon the right.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY AND LARCENY - On Nov. 26, police received a complaint of the theft of copper piping from a seasonal cottage on East Shore Drive, in the Lake Hayward section of East Haddam. Anyone with possible information that could help police with this investigation is asked to call the East Haddam Resident Troopers' Office at 860-873-1226 or the Connecticut State Police, Troop K at 860-537-7500.
