Body Found in Connecticut River; May Be Missing NY Man

Police recovered a man's body Monday afternoon in Essex.

Police said they believe the body of a man they pulled out of the Connecticut River on Monday is that of a New York man reported missing on Saturday.

Richard S. Cianflone, of Valhalla, NY, was reported missing on Aug. 3 shortly after attending a lobster festival in Essex, The Middletown Press reported.

Two days later police recovered a body from the river and, while officials have not confirmed the man's identity yet, they said they believe it is Cianflone, the Press reported.

The body is currently in the hands of the state medical examiner before it is identified, WFSB reported.
